2020 AVP Austin Open
Fittingly, the AVP’s second stop on the 2020 Tour lands in the second largest state in the country, Texas. For the capital city of Austin, playing host to high-level volleyball is nothing new to the area. Combine a passionate fanbase with the country’s top pro beach volleyball athletes, and a little extra sprinkle of that Austin-weird, this tournament is one of the can’t-miss stops on tour.
Last year’s match play at the Austin Open saw record-breaking upsets with BOTH of the #1 seeds for men and women losing to the 16th-seed teams. Needless to say, the weekend unraveled in an epic way. Taylor Crabb and Jake Gibb fought back through grueling matches in the Contender’s Bracket to secure the title, while first-time Women’s Champions Jace Pardon & Karissa Cook defeated the hometown favorites Taylor Nyquist and Meghan Mannari, who entered their first Finals match of their career coming all the way from the Qualifiers Bracket.
General admission is FREE so grab your family and friends and go #BeachMode with us to kick off the ultimate summer party. We can assure you that this will NOT be your average day at the beach…
